A Message From The Regional Director

Chaplain Rick Kassel

The ICPC Region 4 is a strong region within the International Conference of Police Chaplains. It consists of seven states including Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Wisconsin and West Virginia. I am honored to serve this region as regional director. If I may do anything to assist you in making your chaplaincy program stronger than it already is, please contact me for assistance. I may be reached by email at: chp1kas@sbcglobal.net or on cell phone at 317-538-5644. Our other region officers are glad to serve you as well.

Our 2012 regional training seminar will be held March 12-14, 2012 at the Star Plaza Hotel in Merrillville, IN where we were two years ago. It is a great facility. Chaplain David Nicholson, Chair of the planning committee and his helpers have been hard at work planning for an excellent training experience. The brochure will be in your mailbox soon. You may go ahead  and contact the hotel to make your reservations now. Radisson Hotel at Star Plaza, phone: 219-769-6311. Address is: 800 East 81st Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410. The room rate is most reasonable--same as two years ago ($89 plus tax).

You can be very proud of Region 4 as the newly elected ICPC Vice President is Chaplain Mark Clements from LaCrosse, WI. He was our WI state representative in region 4 prior to his election at the ATS. We congratulate Mark and pray for his work on our behalf. We already have had Chaplain Bob Fiers from IN serving as the ICPC Treasurer for several years now and he was reelected at the ATS in Jamaica. Chaplain Fiers has served ICPC extremely well. We also have several other region 4 chaplains serving as chairs or members on the various committees of ICPC. Chaplain Michele Miller did a fine job last year of co-chairing our RTS in Perrysburg, OH. She overcame many difficulties as her co-chair, Chaplain Rick Vascik became ill early in the planning process and subsequently died last summer. Please remember his family during this holiday season.  Blessings to you all. Looking forward to seeing you in Merrillville in March.
